About Us and our Journey!!
How we became Party Entertainers and how the business has had to recently adapt.
Come To My Party was founded in 2008 by myself Kerry Jay.
An entertainer all my life, I was constantly asked to entertain children at friends parties and after moving to Oxfordshire and starting a family, founding Come To My Party seemed an obvious next move.
I have been a professional dancer for the past 12 years. I ‘trod the boards’ in London’s West End in shows such as Chicago, We Will Rock You, Follies, Les Miserables and Grease; as well as working commercially for artists such as Sugababes, Jamiroqui, Blue, Brian Adams, and Groove Armada in videos and tours. I have also been a dance teacher for 15 years.
Fully CRB checked with Public Liability Insurance, I love working with children and seem to be able to captivate their attention! So sit down and enjoy the party whilst I entertain the children!
I am also an experienced balloon modeller and am now going bigger and better with my designs! As a lover of crafting but limited time on my hands, balloons have been a great outlet for creativity with big results in a short time! Be sure to check out the balloon pages!
Other party entertainers on the team!!
Gemma is a fantastic party entertainer with bags of energy and fantastic rapport with kids of all ages. She makes a lovely princess as well as a fabulous pirate and is also a very accomplished balloon twister. She has been working with us now for 7 years and we are really lucky to have her on board!
Kate has a degree in Community Drama and has run music classes for children alongside bring up her own 4! She really engages the children and is a very popular Unicorn Princess and Princess Anna as well as being her own fabulous self!
Please also check out the classes pages as I run both children and adults dance classes. I teach a wide variety of styles from ballroom, street dance, Ceroc, club-fit and musical theatre! A real mix and am always adding new projects!
I also run events in schools, Brownies and Cub Scouts, and corporate team building both with dance and balloon twisting workshops.
Life since Lockdown!!
I thought it would be fun to share our journey of how a small local business of party entertainers has had to completely change over the last few months!
We have had to change utterly since lockdown as we were unable to entertain in person any more! We always brought a special balloon for the Birthday child along to our fun and games parties and have balloon modelled at lots of local town events but with parties and events unable to go ahead we totally changed direction! In the early severe lockdown stages we went online with our regular 12 noon Facebook live balloon modelling where we would take requests from anyone watching to make pretty much anything live!
It was lots of fun and my front window became very full with the balloons during the 6 weeks we did this for!! The front of our house also became very decorated too and I loved everyone’s reactions when they passed!
When it was safe to do so we started delivery and collection balloon creations and we can’t believe how busy it has been!
As we make anything it is so much fun creating people’s ideas and seeing them come to life in balloon form!
Whilst things are changing all the time and it does look like entertaining at small functions is going to be doable soon again, I have so much enjoyed adapting my business and thought I would share so of my lockdown time photos here at Come To My Party!
